Mommy and I were playing upstairs in my room when her phone rang. She got a big smile on her face and asked, "what time?" Then she hung up the phone and told me we had to go somewhere. She was very careful not to tell me where we were going. After a while driving in the car we got to one of the gates for post, but I didn't recognize it and I really didn't recognize the roads we were on. Mommy said we hadn't been on those roads since I was a tiny, tiny baby. Then she pulled over at a shopette and we went inside for a coffee. When we got back to the car I got to sit in the front seat with mommy while we waited. I still had no idea what we were waiting for!
Mommy and Daddy always tell me that I have to be patient and make the best of a situation...so that's what I did! I decided to play around while we waited.
I was still driving the car when mommy's phone rang and she said I needed to pull over. After she hung up she told me to put the car in park and we got out. I looked up at the gas station behind us and I saw a man walking towards us dressed in ACUs and wearing a PC (army combat uniform and patrol cap for those who don't know). I watched him walk for a minute and I looked at mommy with a big smile on my face and looked back at the man. He was walking towards us and was walking just like my daddy!
IT WAS MY DADDY! I hadn't seen him since I went to bed on July 4th! I was so excited!! When he picked me up and told me hi I waved really big at him!
Daddy gave me big, big, big hugs!
And big, big kisses!
I was so happy to see my daddy! I cried when I got buckled back in the carseat and daddy shut the door. Mommy says that seeing him must have done me some good because not only did I sleep all night but I didn't wake up until 10am! We got to have pancakes!!
Bless mommy's little heart. She tried to make mouse pancakes but her ears were always off. I told her that was ok because I didn't really want to eat a mouse for breakfast!
I ate one anyways so that she wouldn't feel bad. I think she messed up the recipe cause they tasted like regular pancakes....I'm glad cause I think mouse ones would be gross!
Daddy taught me this--AH! See my food?!
Mommy had her coffee and I had some coffee juice to keep her company. She makes a great cup of coffee juice-it tasted just like apple! My favorite!
